John J. Germanotta

John Germanotta has been practicing law in Milwaukee for more than fifty years. He focuses on estate planning, business law, and real estate. He particularly enjoys helping his clients form businesses, assisting them with various legal issues and helping to construct succession plans or merger/acquisition structures. John finds the creativity involved in estate planning, including the creation of revocable trusts, to be rewarding.  He also enjoys the challenge of structuring residential and commercial real estate transactions, including zoning matters.

John’s tenure on the State Bar Committees for the Board of Professional Responsibility and Office of Lawyer Regulation reinforced his understanding of, and commitment to, strong ethics. He has enjoyed applying his legal knowledge while serving his community as a member of the Whitefish Bay Fire and Police Commission, President of the First Neighborhood Credit Union, Director and Officer of the Brady Street Association, and President of the North Shore Kiwanis.

John’s knowledge of the Italian language allows him to represent people and companies preferring to speak Italian. He strives to continue the tradition of our law firm, which began in 1946, providing courteous, trustworthy, and successful representation to a wide variety of individuals and businesses.

John graduated from Marquette Law School in 1971, where he was a member of the Law Review.

Daniel R. Shillinglaw

Dan Shillinglaw joined the firm in 2005 and became a partner in 2013. Early in his career, Dan worked on diverse legal matters, including estate planning, probate, real estate, landlord/tenant disputes, and zoning issues. Since becoming a partner in 2013, Dan has focused exclusively on personal injury claims, and has recovered millions of dollars for his clients in that time. He has extensive experience resolving injury claims through pre-trial negotiation, as well as litigation, mediation, and trial.

Dan attended American Law School and Marquette Law School, graduating from Marquette in 2005. As an undergraduate, he attended UW-Madison and UW-Milwaukee, where he earned majors in Physics, French, and Education, with a minor in History. Dan is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Association for Justice. He is licensed to practice in the State of Wisconsin and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.

Dan lives in Bay View with his wife and dog. He enjoys biking the Oak Leaf Trail, hiking in state parks, and cooking.

Jared T. Levisen

Jared Levisen is a graduate of Marquette University Law School. He began his career as a solo practitioner in Mequon, Wisconsin for 4 years before joining the firm in 2022. Jared works for his clients in the areas of estate planning, probate and trust administration, real estate, and personal injury.

Jared is a U.S. Navy veteran. While in law school, he chaired the Student Veteran’s Organization and worked to expand membership and legal experience for veteran students. Jared’s background as a registered nurse gives him a unique insight in negotiating settlements in personal injury claims and advising families administering the estates of loved ones dealing with tremendous grief.

Jared enjoys spending time with his family, making pottery in his home studio, traveling, and playing with his dog.
